Connecting Focaccia Bread Recipe
I have thoroughly enjoyed becoming fluid in making my bread and this one is perfect for connection. I love a good tear and go recipe. This one is also flexible to use as an appetizer, side dish or as a pizza base for a full meal. It’s great to take to any pot luck as a simple and popular dish. We really like this recipe in our little cozy cottage.
Ingredients:
2 cups warm water
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup Virgin olive oil
1 Tablespoon sea salt
4 1/2 cups All Purpose or Bread Flour
Topping:
5 Tablespoons of Virgin Olive Oil
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
3-4 Tablespoons fresh herbs (or 2 Tablespoons dried)
salt and pepper to taste
(you can make it into a simple pizza with toppings here)
Method:
Whisk 1/4 cup of warm water
Add 2 teaspoons sugar
Add 2 teaspoons yeast
Let sit for 10 minutes.
Add olive oil and 1 cup flour.
Add the yeast mixture.
Combine and add warm water and more flour. Mix.
Turn onto floured board.
Knead 3-4 minutes until it bounces back when you press a thumb.
Rise in a covered oiled bowl, in a warm area for 2 hours.
Shape and rise 1 more hour with toppings and fork marks in it.
Heat oven and bake at 400 for 20-23 minutes to golden.
