Heart, Mind and Spirit Fish Tacos

This is the most delicious fish taco recipe that you will ever encounter! These are A MAJOR HIT WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS! The secret is in the cole slaw that is put together with some spicy overtones and all of the extra goodies that are a perfect complement to this yummy meal!

Make sure you take these ingredients as a sure thing baseline, and then expand into your own version of this traditionally ‘South-of-the-Border’ delicacy.

Ingredients:

  • Flour Tortillas (whatever size you like… we use the large ones) (corn tortillas can also be used if preferred)

  • Fish Fillets of Choice (We like snapper, tilapia, mahi mahi, or ono)

  • Coconut Oil

  • Cheese (we like using a 4 cheese mexican blend, however, whatever is your prefered cheese will do, just remember to not make a choice that over-powers the delicate flavor profile of the fish)

  • Lemon Pepper (to taste)

  • Cayenne Pepper (to taste)

  • Cumin (to taste)

  • Garlic salt (to taste)

  • 1 - 2 cups Cabbage

  • 1/2 cup Mayo

  • 1 Tbsp Wasabi paste(or to taste)

  • 1 cup lettuce

  • 1/2 cup Tomatoes

  • 1/2 cup Onions

  • 1/4 cup Black olives

  • 1 lg Avocados

Method:

  • On a griddle, or in a frying pan, melt 1 Tbsp coconut oil and start to saute the fish fillet on one side.

  • Add lightly the lemon pepper, cayenne pepper, cumin and garlic salt to top of the fish fillet.

  • Turn fillet over after flesh has turned opaque and not browned.

  • Make sure not to overcook the fish so that it remains moist and flaky.

  • Process 1 - 2 cups cabbage on a grater to create a fine chopped consistency then set aside.

  • In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup mayo, 1 Tbsp wassabi (or to taste), 1/2 tsp garlic salt (or to taste), 1/2 tsp lemon pepper.

  • Mix cabbage with dressing and let stand for 10 min

  • Heat tortilla of choice on a griddle or frying pan until lightly toasted.

  • Add cooked fish, cover with cheese, add chopped onions, cover with coleslaw,

  • Add tomatoes, olives, avocado and lettuce.

  • Fold or wrap and ENJOY!
