Jeremy the Hedgehog With A Hump
Jeremy the Hedgehog With A Hump
Jeremy is a small hedgehog with bright eyes, muddy paws, one gentle hump beneath his spikes, and another kind
of hump that nobody can see.
The little hump on his back has always been part of him. It does not hurt, honk, flash, or store emergency
sandwiches. Jeremy's invisible feelings-hump is trickier. It grows whenever the day does not follow his very
excellent plan. The wrong cup? HMPH! A missing sock? HMPH-HMPH! A pea touching his potato? An obvious
breakfast emergency.
Then Jeremy stays home for three days with Grandpa - an older hedgehog with round black glasses, a deep
Hrrmph, and a tender heart hidden beneath years of grumbling.
Crooked fishing rods, magnificent puddles, runaway pudding, family memories, muddy research, and plenty of
unexpected laughter begin bringing them closer. Together they discover that grumpiness can sometimes hide
loneliness, worry, embarrassment, or hurt - and that big feelings become lighter when someone kind stays close
enough to listen.
Warm, funny, and full of heart, Jeremy the Hedgehog With A Hump is a story about self-acceptance, emotions,
family, grief, patience, belonging, and discovering that some of the biggest hearts can be hidden behind the
grumpiest spikes
