So Happy - Pizza Party Recipe
Pizza has been a food that I’ve loved since coming to live in America. I’ve eaten it in some of the best places like Chicago and New York (and a few sketchy ones). Making a healthy version has been really fun to do, although vegan and gluten free have challenged me the most and I’ve managed to find several ways to create them without prime ingredients. This recipe is a regular version of crust, with various build your own toppings and you can buy a cauliflower or corn base for people to build their own gluten free and vegan options. We fire up the grill and place each person’s pizza on that if they don’t enjoy - it’s on them and not us!!! I love this with a simple Caesar salad……..
Ingredients:
Base of Pizza:
2 cups warm water
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons active dry yeast
1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 teaspoons sea salt
4 1/2 cups All purpose or bread flour
Topping:
5 Tablespoons Olive Oil
2 Garlic Cloves minced
3-4 Tablespoons fresh herbs or 2 tablespoons dried
salt / pepper to taste
Method:
Whisk 1 cup water with 2 teaspoons sugar and 2 teaspoons yeast in a bowl.
Rest it for 5 mins.
Add water
Add olive oil.
Add 1 cup flour and combine.
Add more flour and mix.
Add salt.
Turn dough out onto floured board.
Knead 3-4 mins.
Once dough bounces back from a finger pressed - it’s ready.
Rise dough 2-3 hours in a covered bowl in a warm place.
Roll out to thin.
Heat Grill.
Prepare dishes with toppings for guests to choose.
Part Grill thin pizza bases and let them cool
Create a spot for guests to add toppings to cool pizza bases.
Grill the pizza’s 20 mins or so for each guest and serve.
Serve & ENJOY!!!
