So Happy Newsletter

It’s not that we aren’t aware how laughter, love and happiness can impact our daily life in profound ways, it’s that in the past we may have experienced these levels of pleasure less easily than we have historically been able to sustain. Can we even imagine being happy on a truly consistent and sustainable basis?

I would like to share that our natural state of being is more blissful. Of course this tends to apply without any outside influences from our fellow humans and all the many circumstances that can show up to burst the bliss bubble we each have the potential to create. Its lovely to be around individuals who are truly happy. Laughter is such vibrant medicine, that it’s even included in certain yoga disciplines.

I remember going to my first ever “laughter yoga” class at the Ashram I lived in for a glorious month. I wasn’t sure about it at all, especially when we were told to crawl around on all fours wagging our tails and smiling into giggles, followed by laughter, that intentionally led to huge gales of belly laughing. Laughter became more contagious than I’d ever known it to be before and Beyond my original skepticism I found myself letting go and joining the foolishness, wholeheartedly. It was so good for my whole body, that I went back for more on two more occasions, wagging my tail and other exercises with more gusto, releasing how I may appear to anyone else’s eyes.

It was so healthy to be in pure childlike joy rather than hold any adult concern for ego projections. It set a new target for me that I hadn’t held before those classes. When a person would ask me about hopes, dreams, or aspirations, I most often shared something practical, material or lofty. My new shared projection was that I wished to experience being “outrageously happy.” It always made others smile when they heard me say that and it warmed my heart and filled me more than any of the goals that I may or may not attain. This felt real and attainable.

I am happy and continue to work toward the outrageous version of that, which of course is always a work in progress…..

Happiness is a Healthy state of balance we can hold to heal and master ourselves through the mind, body and spirit.
