Indulge - A Spiritual Story

Over the many years I have realized many truths. The understanding of these truths have come out of the wonderful variety of sessions held with individuals who have been seeking their highest good and sometimes needing guidance away from their sometimes worst reality. In these sessions indulgence was a common thread. It also placed the mirror of my own indulgent behaviors right in front of me. We definitely live on a plane of existence that knows temptations. It seems that there are delightful temptations and potential for addiction around every corner of life.

There is a tendency in the indulgence actions to overdo it. I know I’ve more often than not, chosen to not create a stop sign with yummy indulgences with food, and I haven’t met a human who hasn’t had to overcome some form of over indulgence. The other side of the spectrum of indulgence is the other one I’ve met plenty of in sessions, and this is one of deprivation (and let’s face it, indulgence is more fun than deprivation will ever be.)

Both over indulgence and deprivation can come with a lack of responsibility and personal ownership of the behaviors involved.

An example of this came as a session with a woman who was bent over and had grown much older than her years. She wasn’t living in her life, and instead was simply complaining about her partners’ addictive behaviors in his lifestyle. When we discussed what she was filling her daily existence with, it was literally full of resentment and focus on him. There was no focus on her whatsoever. She had no life, and the life force energy she had was covered in a red angry auric overlay, because she was fed up and disgusted with his choices. Meanwhile she hadn’t made any choices of her own. Her homework was to go make a life without disrupting what they did have together, which was a long standing marriage, containing children and grandchildren, that she felt were a valuable gift they shared.

She changed her life almost overnight, taking full responsibility for what she was deliberately indulging in. The red auric overlay in her field of energy was gone and replaced with the pink of life, pleasure and unconditional love. She didn’t have to leave her marriage or drop dead to claim it either. She simply changed from indulging in resentment, and choosing to indulge in love.
