Movement - A Spiritual Story
Movement is so important on every level during this life.
When doing a reading, I’m often asked how to get aspects of an individual’s life moving, from places that they feel stuck. The truth is it’s not actually possible to be stuck, because even if we stand perfectly still, we are standing on a constantly spinning ball of energy in the Universe.
Therefore it’s a perception or a belief system that doesn’t necessarily serve our Highest Best.
When we physically keep moving, emotionally stay heart open, and are mindful, we are moving toward something greater than ourselves. That’s what I call really “moving.”
I have personally had times during my life when I’ve moved a lot, like doing aerobics 6 days a week, and then other times when I’ve been way more sedentary. I know I feel so much better when I move and my life moves as a result in all areas of my reality.
Here’s an old story about movement that taught me some valuable lessons……………
My husband and I chose to leave the small town area North of Santa Barbara when my healing center didn’t work out well for me. My mum and son came with us to a lovely suburban area.
I still had loyal clients in the area I’d just left and arranged with a beauty salon client to go and work there every Monday when the salon was closed.
My mum and I drove her little car there to save gas and she enjoyed being the relaxed passenger for the almost 2 hour drive each way.
Our first client was usually booked for about 30 minutes after we arrived and set up the salon with massage table and products. My mum grabbed the small items while I took the salon keys and my massage goodies out of the car. The door closed and car locked, with the engine still running.
We set everything up and mum panicked that the car would blow up or something.
We rang our roadside assistance who were busy and gave us a 2 hour window. We called our local police who were fabulous, coming out and literally breaking into our car, to get the keys and switch it off. It was a smile-a-lot, ironic moment when the police help you break into your own car!
The first client who arrived while all of this was taking place right outside, limped into my room with a foot brace on her left leg to the ankle. She had Muscular Dystrophy and was managing it as best she could.
I had recently experienced some major physical healing sessions with others, and called in prayers, help and physical healing from all the Highest sources for her leg and condition. I felt almost disappointed when after the session she replaced the brace she’d removed for our time together. Nothing seemed to have changed. She was tuned in enough to notice.
She came and sat next to me, holding my hand and looking deeply into my eyes.
She told me that she had experienced contact and connection with her precious Guides during our session and felt peace around some emotional hurts with regard to her children and family.
She hadn’t asked for or expected anything to happen with her physical being. It wasn’t where her focus was at that time. She was in the emotional healing, while I was hanging out in the physical healing. We were moving in different places.
I had a limited expectation of what we were supposed to be doing and she had a completely different space she wanted to move into.
Her intention won with her own body.
My intention had nothing to do with how she wished to move during our session.
I learned that we can only really move ourselves and simply assist in helping others move in the way they choose.
