Love - A Spiritual Story

I have to tell you my story.

I am for the first time in my life totally and completely in love!

It began with a date from a little known online dating service. I messaged him as the post he placed was beautifully, spiritually written and I was intrigued.

I wore my peach silk short dress with black heels, and walked into a small island restaurant trio, on Maui that we had arranged to meet at, after two excellent conversations.

I didn’t know I was seated at the wrong one of the triads of eateries, when this 6’4” darling man walked toward me, with a gentle smile, in a down played black T and pair of simple black and grey shorts. He introduced himself as he sat down, and I blurted out “You’re beautiful.”

His smile got wider as he said “Excuse me?”

I repeated what he thought I just said.

I figured it was already out there so I repeated it and his eyes sparkled, thanking me, and saying “Wow. You’re stunning.”

It was very apparent that we were into each other.

He told me I was in a different restaurant than the one we were supposed to meet at and we both laughed and then moved.

We shared a meal, with giggles, a conversation that never tired and an evening that was difficult to end.

My face hurt with so much smiling.

We were almost inseparable after that for several weeks.

I drove to his sweet little one bedroom home in the hills, from my beach apartment that I had recently furnished.

He was between work, regaining his health and probably at the tail end of the worst period of his life.

I was in the early start to my own return towards flourishing for the first time as a single woman in my early 50’s, since 16 years old when I’d met my first husband.

We certainly didn’t meet in the best point of our romantic history.

He took on the task of getting me more connected via the internet, being paid by me, and he fell down on the job, due to lack of knowledge on his end at that time, and I felt let down.

We unfortunately split as a result.

Then I traveled with a group on a spiritual journey to New Zealand, and during my trip, I received one of the most loving, heart centered emails from him, that touched my soul.

He wanted to reconnect, was working in sales on the West side of the island, and had his life way more together. We agreed to meet and he bought me dinner.

Over our Thai food, we laughed, talked and his boyishly handsome looks took my breath away yet again. We were back for a few days.

Then I had one of my visions.

I saw him with one leg and for the next two days I kept seeing men with the left leg missing. I dropped the relationship, without telling him why. He was stunned and knew I had seen something that threw a wrench.

He asked.

I told him.

His father had lost his left leg at the knee in his life. It was a reality he had known and did have health issues to correct.  We remained split yet again.

My mum was 88 and was challenged with living alone. She asked if I would consider returning to help her. She will always be one of my all-time favorite people on this earth, and of course I was going to drop everything and go to her. I began selling and giving away everything except 14 boxes of some laughable items I couldn’t bear parting with.

My dear friend Veronica and her family were coming to Maui within a week or so of me leaving the island, and they stayed with me, as I vacated my home. Then I went and stayed with them in a sweet condo they had rented on the West side. On their last day we went out on a boat, viewing whales and spinner dolphins, with snorkeling and fun included. It was an epic day, completing with a meal in an outdoor restaurant and a slow walk to the car to delay the goodbye we had to face.

As we took the shopping long way around to the car, I found myself stood opposite the always handsome and darling man that stopped my heart. I was frozen and he saw me too. He beckoned me over, as I was drawn into his arms. He whispered into my hair how he’d missed me. I told him I was leaving within the next 3 days to be beside my beloved mum.

He invited me to stay and I said yes.

I spent a glorious 3 nights in his small home, leaving to stay with my sweet friend and organize luggage and life to return to the UK and my mum.

He remained in contact and after almost a year of trying to make life work for me in the UK, and making sure my mum had a twice daily support system in place, with care workers and food made, it was time to go.

I left England, sending the 14 boxes once more to the “big blue” and weaved my way to Maui and to him.

I wasn’t returning to Maui. I was returning to the love I’d felt since I met him.

Our reunion was as epic as any you can possibly imagine.

It’s been over a year and he was there the night I received the call, less than 2 months after leaving England, that my mum had left my World.

He was wonderful during a time when I needed someone really profound to help me with the greatest loss I had ever known.

I am with my twin flame, my great love and he is too.

We are outrageously happy and we both know what it is to have real love.
