Higher Self - A Spiritual Story
As you are aware by now, I have loved providing work that leads to enlightened moments, partly because the experience not only changes and improves the lives touched, it also enhances my own life’s journey.
My time in hospice was really precious on every level, even though emotionally challenging, because nobody got better, and everyone passed. The time, however, became more special and the value of what we shared was beyond this plane of existence. I have many truly heart lifting stories and a really sweet example to share with you.
It was very warm and windy days, and my little car was driving locally to see a new hospice patient. This lady knew her days were sat in her final chapter, although she wasn’t speaking openly about it, and neither should we.
I stepped into a large townhouse of three stories, with my bag of lotions and potions with choices of relaxation and rejuvenation. There were two daughters there, one manic, who was busy, stressed and struggling to cope with the reality she was facing. the other was bright eyed and calm. The calm one extended her hand, introducing herself as Sandy, as she let me into the house. Sandy walked me up the stairs to the open bedroom that her mother was laying in.
The woman who greeted me was very pretty, with bright blue eyes, a welcoming smile, and blonde hair that was thin yet pretty, pulled back into a small tie at the back. She was chatty, while I placed lotion on her hands and feet. She shared with me about her days of bowling and poodle skirts in the 1950’s in America. She was wonderful and the stories were so well told, I could stand in them with her and experience her joy.
I left there feeling as if I hadn’t worked with a hospice patient, as she was so healthy, lucid and bouncy. The next week when I returned was a very different story. She had aged somehow, and was less chatty, had more trouble breathing, and was more tearful. I chatted to her and soothed her, while I lovingly spread the lotions of relaxation on her hands and feet. I even placed some soothing cream on her face and said silent prayers to keep her comfortable and help prepare her.
The next week I was asked to take a little time with the calm daughter, Sandy before I worked with the mum. The hospice nurses had told the daughters that mum was close to departure time.
There was a lovely comfortable lazy boy chair in the open space outside the bedroom where mum was resting. Sandy sat in the chair and asked me if I could help her connect with her mum to make sure her wishes were being met. The son, Sandy’s brother, was flying in from out of State to say his goodbyes and Sandy wanted to be sure her mum could hang on until he arrived. I felt it would be the case.
I invited Sandy to sit back, with her feet up in my hands, and breathe deeply into a state of relaxation. I anchored her to the here and now, while I helped her to lift to a much higher plane of reality. I could physically feel her step up to her higher self while I massaged her feet gently. I invited her to meet her mum’s higher self on that plane and have a real time conversation with her. I left them there together while I held space, anchoring her feet and her physical body in this timeline, while she completed what was needed in the one her mum could meet her in.
I knew she was there when I peeked a view of her and tears were silently streaming down her cheeks and she was nodding and smiling. I invited her to nod her head when she felt ready to come back and complete with her mum, leaving the space ready at any point for her to revisit once her mum had left her physical body, so that they could keep in contact.
Sandy returned slowly and finally opened her eyes. She looked at me content and amazed.
She shared that she had a whole conversation relating to her mum’s wishes and that her mum was waiting to see her brother before she left.
It was more than helpful for the transition they were all facing. I stepped into the room with mum and simply held her feet and hands, having a telepathic conversation with her.
She thanked me and let me know she was ready and had experienced a glimpse of the other realms. She wasn’t at all afraid and she was thankful for a life well lived, surrounded by love.
I said goodbye and thanked her for the time we had spent together. It was a room full of grace and spiritual depth.
Sandy hugged me long and hard, with tears as she said goodbye.
I left and sat in my car for quite a while. I knew this was a day I would not forget. A day of being in the vibration of the Higher Self.
