Positive Power - A Spiritual Story
For over 28 years I’ve been working with some version of the holistic soul healer, and as most of you know, I have found love, great love and now not only is my life shared with a delightful man, my business is shared with his gifted soul.
It’s helpful when you have someone close to you to pick you up when a spiral begins to take you down. I can definitely attest to the fact that Jeff and I do that for each other.
The perspective we have on how we see life in front of us, makes a huge difference in how life serves us and how we serve others at the best.
Over the years many people have come to the work offered through spiritual guidance, and when I’ve asked individuals what they want, in many cases, they tended to tell me what they didn’t want. I found in many, if not most, of my sessions over the years that wherever there was a problem of any sort, the solution mostly lived within the power of positivity. It remains true today.
Humans have often too easily given power away to so-called authorities. What makes anyone an authority over us? Usually it’s the assumption that they know way more than we do on any given subject, yet with enough research, we can gather knowledge in the same manner.
Let’s face it, doctors are brilliant because they’ve taken years to read and learn about the body, perhaps specializing in one area. Professors are also brilliant because they have chosen academic learning, on deep and thick volumes of information, that they then pass on to students. Nobody’s knowledge of us, however, is greater than the potential to know ourselves.
We can easily assume that someone who seems like they’ve created the perfect life, is better than us, or has a secret we are missing. Over the years I’ve found this to be one of the greatest, almost laugh out loud illusions that exists.
Every single person I’ve ever met is dealing with something and challenged by something they haven’t mastered or overcome. At some point in life’s journey everyone I’ve ever met has questioned their own existence and been unsure of the foundation that suddenly becomes rocky, either with an event or with insights that everything they thought to be true, wasn’t.
I remember a man came to me who had over 100 employees, in an industrial business he was very proud he had created from scratch. The trouble was that he wanted to retire and had tried to sell it to no avail. He had amassed enough wealth to not need much from it, and most of his employees had pensions and savings plans from being loyal to him for many years.
He was such a good man, with a devoted family view and a very positive outlook. I liked him a lot, especially because he came to me with a humble heart, a sad concern for the loyal staff he had felt responsible for. The guidance offered that he could gather his major employees in a meeting, and possibly create a collaborative type of handing over of his life’s work, offering a buy out where the staff would own the company between them, and he could gracefully pull out and act as a paid consultant if he wished to remain connected. He was so relieved and ready to move forward with positive power in himself, and handing over positive power of autonomy to each of his employees. He loved the solution, and there is always a spiritual solution to every earthly problem.
