Letting Go - A Spiritual Story
Life is tentative and temporary. We are almost born to leave here. None of us get to stay. Life itself is ultimately fatal.
That in itself is a really weird reality. Based on that, we are all on the merry-go-around of a life that completes and forces each of us to let go.
Since we have nothing to hang onto, it’s important to do some of the following, while we are here on earth………
Have fun
Help and not harm anyone else.
Behave in the best light possible, as often as we can.
Live well and help anyone we meet to do the same.
Be responsible for all of our own thoughts, feelings and actions.
Express as openly and honestly as we can more than not.
Love and be loved by as many individuals as we have time for.
Live mindfully amongst all living and sentient beings.
Remember who we are, and can be physically, mentally, emotionally and especially spiritually.
Be kind.
These are just a few examples of how we can live while letting go of the ages, stages and relationships that meander throughout our existence here on earth.
I know that my own life has been all about letting go.
I have learned more than words can even begin to express.
I had a magnet on my fridge for the longest time that shared this sentiment……
“I will stop loving you when I can collect each of the tears from the ocean of life that I have shed over the years.”
This is true for me.
I love that I have loved enough to miss those I’ve let go of.
Life was always about feeling it as deeply and profoundly as possible.
Life is about letting go, and not holding on to anything, not even the self we embody.
