So many years continue to pass and the enlightenment requests keep coming…………

I often joke and let people know that the way to enlightenment is to literally lighten up, however true that may be, the reality isn’t quite as simple sometimes as it may seem on first glance.

Lighting up has been used in our World culture to beckon us home and to safer shores since time began. Lighthouses used a spinning beacon of light to guide boats, especially in storms and lanterns were used to guide people through dark streets in early history.

The stories of our World, which stem from the individual tales of challenge have often come from dark unkind realities, honestly created by humanities own insecurities.

We can change this and instead create a reality from light and joy.

Here’s an example……………

A client came to me at one of the very worst times in her life journey.

She had just started a divorce that wasn’t her first choice. Her husband had found a relationship he wished to pursue with his office manager, wanting to create a home with his new love, instead of her and their two teenage daughters. She didn’t see it coming and was dropping down the rabbit hole of despair, rather than finding a reason to make life work.

She was about to lose her gorgeous home with a pool, the friends, the country club, and the lifestyle she had grown accustomed to.

The burden of grief with all the loss was overwhelming for her.

I asked her to imagine a really sweet life coming out of all that hurt.

She lay on my massage table while I was guided to have her describe a sweet home, a good man and a life that was very different in a positive way.

I massaged her while she described and visualized the life she wanted to create. She walked through the cozy cottage rooms and out to the lovely flower garden in her mind’s eye. She walked upstairs to the man waiting with open arms full of love and appreciation for her. She could smell, taste, see and feel her future beautifully.

I was massaging in her new reality, which brought her visions to life.

It was a really special session that we shared.

Within a few months she was living in that cottage and a kind man had shown up in her life.

Together we had lit up her new emerging reality and it was brought to life with the motion of massage, which was like placing wheels on her vehicle of desire so that she could literally drive her dreams home to reality.

She left the room lighter, with more hope and possibility.

It didn’t remove her struggle or the reality she had been facing.

Buddhism will tell you that suffering is inevitable.

What she did was to shine a light on what she wished to create to lighten up the load she had been carrying and shift her focus. This then changed her truth.
