Patience - a Vegan Recipe for Bread

Baking bread takes time, and is certainly worthy of patience so that it tastes really good.

I have various recipes and making your own bread is much better, cleaner and healthier than most of the store bought versions.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups unbleached flour ( you can use gluten free too)

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

  • 2 Tablespoons Agave Nectar

  • 1 3/4 cups very warm water

Method:

  • Mix flour and agave

  • Mix yeast with warm water to foamy - 10 minutes or so

  • Add yeast mix to flour and agave

  • Turn dough out onto floured board

  • Knead 5-10 mins

  • Add salt

  • Rinse and dry the bowl

  • Place dough ball into the bowl and cover

  • Place bowl in a warm dry place

  • Rise 1 - 1 1/2 hours

  • Punch dough down

  • Heat oven to 375 and let dough rise again 30 mins

  • Bake 30-40 mins to golden

  • Serve with soup or salad
