Joyful Life Fruit Smoothie

One of the things that allows us to live a joy-filled life is to create vibrant health. We have found a key to facilitating this state of health by designing our daily food intake to help our body to stay vibrating at a higher energetic level!

One way our bodies function at this higher level is to be constantly cleaning out the toxins and to keep things moving through and providing high levels of nutrition, while being absolutely delicious!!

The following smoothie recipe is simple, easy to create and packed with amazing flavor, while at the same time is nutritious and gives you that satisfied, full feeling.

One cautionary note to this recipe is to be mindful of the initial fiber delivered. Too much fiber introduced to the body can cause bloating, gas and discomfort. If this happens, just back off of the amount of fiber (in this case, psyllium) and it will subside in a day or so while your body adjusts…

One of the best tools that we have pulled into our lives is a Vitamix… It truly has stepped up the nutritional aspects of our diet. While we love this tool, you may have another high speed blender that you like to use… The key is to break down the leafy greens and fruit components into a very “smooth” consistency to make it so irresistible.

This recipe makes 2 servings:.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Frozen Blueberries

  • 1 Cup Frozen Mixed Fruit

  • 1 Apple (Granny Smiths provide some wonderful tartness)

  • 1 inch chunk of Fresh Ginger

  • 1 Handful of Fresh Spinach

  • 1 Tbsp Spirulina

  • 2 Tbsp Flax Seeds

  • 2 Tbsp Psyllium Husk (Natural or Metamucil type product)

  • 1 Tbsp Chia Seeds

  • 1 Tbsp Powdered Beet Root

  • 1 Cup Organic Apple Juice

  • 2 Cups Water

  • 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice

  • 2 Tbsp Agave Nectar

Method:

  • Put all dry ingredients (flax seed, chia seed, psyllium, spirulina and beetroot) into the Vitamix and blend on high for 30 seconds to create a powder.

  • Add all other ingredients and blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until smooth.

Divide in 2 and ENJOY!!!
